Dr. Ada Peter

Lecturer 1

Dr. Ada Peter has almost a decade of teaching experience and working as a researcher on
mediated political communication and ICT with a focus on conflict regions in Africa. As a
discourse analysis expert and a lead researcher of investigations on the effects of ICT on Social
Change in Developing Nations, she is currently investigating the potentials of new information
and communication technologies in enhancing the effectiveness of humanitarian response to a
variety of conflict zones. Given the frequent paralysis at national and international levels during
and after conflicts caused by “natural” disasters and political unrest, the empowerment of
individuals to participate in conflict-prevention and humanitarian response initiatives in their
own communities and societies may be one of the most significant innovations created by
advances in technology.
