APCON INDUCTION and PITCH CONTEST

The Department of Mass Communication, Covenant University on the 4th of April, 2019 hosted officials from the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON for the induction of over 70 post graduates and undergraduates in the Department.

This event held at the Covenant University Centre for Research, Innovation and Discovery (CUCRID) auditorium in Covenant University where the students were sworn in as Student Members of the Association. The leader of the delegation Mr. John informed the inductees of the long-term benefit of their membership.

The event was wrapped up by the Annual Pitch Contest organized by the Department and chaired by Dr. Oscar Odiboh. The Public Relations and Advertising students in their finals were given a brief and were required to develop a campaign that provided marketing solutions to the identified problem.

The contest challenge was extended to other schools like Babcock University, Crawford University, Pan Atlantic University and University of Lagos. However, only Crawford University were present for the challenge.

The winner of the contest, Boombox Media was awarded a trophy by a seasoned Advertising practitioner Mr. Kelechi Nwosu of TBWA Concept who was the Chief Judge of the contest.
